Alabama Best Interest of the Child Standard 1997-2011

Under existing Alabama law, upon a parent petitioning a Court for child custody, children are automatically deemed a ward of the State. The Child has typically only 4 to 8 days per month (“standard visitation”) with the non-custodial parent. This State policy is in violation of federal welfare reform laws and constitutional law.
